Question 1

Can I use MitoActive™ with Minoxidil?

Accepted Answer

Yes. MitoActive™ can be used alongside Minoxidil. The two ingredients work through different mechanisms: Minoxidil primarily acts as a vasodilator, while MitoActive™ supports hair growth by improving mitochondrial function and cellular energy within the hair follicle. If using both, apply one product, allow it to absorb completely, then apply the other, or use them at different times of day. Minoxidil has known side effects including itching, redness, contact dermatitis, and initial/withdrawal shedding; MitoActive™ has no known side effects.

Question 2

I have dandruff/itchy scalp. Can I still use MitoActive™?

Accepted Answer

MitoActive™ is suitable for all scalp types, but it is a hair growth serum and will not treat dandruff or itchiness. For dandruff or persistent scalp irritation, treat the underlying scalp condition alongside your hair growth routine using Arata's Anti-Dandruff range.

Question 3

Will MitoActive™ work for PCOS-related hair loss?

Accepted Answer

PCOS-related hair loss is caused by underlying hormonal imbalances that require medical evaluation and treatment. MitoActive™ is not a treatment for PCOS itself but can be used as a complementary topical hair growth serum. Consult your doctor or dermatologist to address the underlying cause alongside using MitoActive™.

Question 4

Will MitoActive™ work for thyroid-related hair loss?

Accepted Answer

Hair loss associated with thyroid disorders is best managed by treating the underlying thyroid condition. MitoActive™ can be used as a complementary topical treatment but is not a substitute for medical treatment. Consult your doctor for appropriate evaluation.

Question 5

I have bald spots. Will MitoActive™ work?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the cause. MitoActive™ is designed to support hair growth where active hair follicles are still present. If follicles are no longer functional or have been permanently damaged, the serum is unlikely to regrow hair. Consult a dermatologist to determine the cause.

Question 6

Can it regrow hair in completely bald areas?

Accepted Answer

No. MitoActive™ requires active hair follicles to work and is not designed to regrow hair in completely bald areas where follicles are no longer present or functional.

Question 7

Has MitoActive™ been tested on Indian consumers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Arata conducted an independent consumer study across India. Additionally, MitoActive™'s main ingredient, Y100™, was evaluated in a clinical trial conducted in India with Indian participants.

Question 8

How long will one bottle last?

Accepted Answer

Each bottle contains 30 ml, and the recommended usage is 1 ml per day (0.5 ml morning and 0.5 ml evening). If used as directed, one bottle lasts around 30 days.

Question 9

Why is Y100™ exclusive to Arata in India?

Accepted Answer

Arata has exclusive commercialisation and distribution rights for Y100™ in India, making MitoActive™ the only product in India formulated with this proprietary mitochondrial hair growth ingredient.

Question 10

Can I use MitoActive™ with coconut oil?

Accepted Answer

MitoActive™ can be used alongside coconut or other oils, though this isn't recommended as it may hinder absorption. For optimal absorption, apply MitoActive™ to a clean, dry scalp rather than layering it over hair oil. MitoActive™ already contains coconut oil in its formulation.

Question 11

Can I use MitoActive™ during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Accepted Answer

MitoActive™ has not been evaluated for use during pregnancy. As a precaution, avoid use during pregnancy unless prescribed by a medical practitioner. If breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using MitoActive™.

Question 12

Does age affect the effectiveness of MitoActive™?

Accepted Answer

MitoActive™ can be used by adults of all ages. In younger individuals it can serve as a preventative measure supporting mitochondrial function before significant decline or visible hair loss occurs, since factors like stress, poor nutrition, and environmental exposure can affect mitochondrial function at any age.
